Four generations of producers have succeeded each other since 1927 when Pasquale Mottura launched his winery deep in the Salento. It has grown up around a beautiful late nineteenth century farmhouse with some baroque elements, and nowadays is run by grandsons Antonio and Pasquale, with the passionate and determined help of Barbara. The wines of the winery come from the winery’s own 150 hectares of vineyards, mostly grown as alberello. The building has been the family home for years, and is very interesting to explore; wines still mature slowly in the cellars. Wine tourists find a warm and courteous welcome at the winery in Tuglie, and are taken on an interesting guided tour.
