In 1970 Cosimo Taurino, founded a winery which has had an impact on the history of wine in Puglia. He made sure that the winery achieved prominence in Puglia and he gave a concrete form to seven generations of family expertise in wine-growing. Nowadays the winery is run by his wife Rita with his daughter Rosanna and his husband Antonio Bello.
Here the Negroamaro and Malvasia Nera varieties dominate the 80 hectares of vineyards belonging to the winery. The Notarpanaro estate is the heart of the farm, and is where you can visit the atmospheric winery and cellars: a large area is entirely surrounded by water cascading down the walls, creating the ideal humid conditions for the wines and also making a strong impression on visitors.
