Puglia and Switzerland are celebrating their friendship on Saturday 25th January with “La Puglia in Engadina”. This exclusive gala evening will take place at 7pm in the Metaresort group’s Hotel Bernina 1865 in Samedan, just a few kilometres from Saint Moritz in the splendid Swiss Alps.
This comes on the eve of this year’s prestigious Saint Moritz Gourmet Festival, bringing the world’s most illustrious wine and food operators to Engadina from 27th to 31st January. “La Puglia in Engadina” is entirely dedicated to the folk traditions of our region, loved by the Swiss for its warm hospitality and excellent quality cuisine, music and culture.
One of Puglia’s expert chefs will prepare the most classical regional traditional dishes, highlighting their close connection with the land and the excellent raw ingredients: extra virgin olive oil, vegetables, and fresh pasta.
Thanks to the Movimento Turismo del Vino Puglia, the region’s wines and native vines - Primitivo, Negroamaro and Nero di Troia – will have a starring role at this event, accompanying the typical dishes. With OCM funding for promotional activity, MTV Puglia will be offering a selection of labels which best represent the region’s wine-growing sector. A special corner will be dedicated to Puglia’s rosé wines; an excellent speciality sector of the regional wine industry which has seen sustained growth in the last few years.
In order to communicate Puglia’s cultural identity even better, the evening will include something from beyond the region’s wine and food culture - artists from “La Notte della Taranta” with the totally irresistible rhythms of the traditional “pizzica” dances and songs.
