The land
Puglia and its wines
Over 800 kilometers of coastline embrace the boundaries of the Puglia region. It is long and narrow, gently wedged into the Mediterranean Sea, and is composed of Daunia, Murge, Messapia, Itria Valley and Salento. These five territories are well-defined wine districts, strongly anchored to typical grapes that characterize the productions.
A wide ampelography collection distinguishes the difference between Puglia and other Italian or Southern regions. Characterized by a marked geographic mutability, Puglia celebrates a wide variety of terroir that changes from Daunia’s mountain peaks to the sandy coast of Salento to large and sunny hill areas — each unique place is then expressed in a rich bouquet of aromas and flavors without equal.
Native grapes, as well as many varieties of national and international varietals that now permanently inhabit the region, get outstanding gifts from the Puglia’s sun and soil. Their impressive structure translates into authentic wines, mostly red, with a strong character and identity, thanks to the passion and experience of fine wine makers.
