In 2003 Claudio Quarta bought an estate near Pulsano, the homeland of Primitivo di Manduria, and began to make wine, aiming to valorise the excellent vineyards of the Salento’s Ionian coast. Starting with the early twentieth-century winery and the lovely sixteenth-century masseria, he has built up an exceptionally high-quality winery by investing in building work and in technology.
