Sebastiano de Corato started the Rivera winery in 1950, aiming to improve the quality of wine-growing in the Castel del Monte area.
He was very successful, and the winery has gone on to play an important role in the revival of Puglia’s wines. Today, over 60 years later, Rivera’s wines appear on over 30 markets around the world, and Sebastiano’s son Carlo, with grandsons Sebastiano and Marco, are busy consolidating and expanding the successful business he launched.
Visitors find a polite and professional welcome to the winery as they are guided by the owners into the tasting room, with its large windows overlooking the rows of vines outside.
The wine’s quality is the result of traditional production methods, which also take account of modern tastes.
